ARCHITECTURAL BIM COORDINATOR

 

Summary:

BIM Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that their discipline’s model is created as per the applicable standards, spatially coordinated, and equipped with required information. They will also be required to prepare BIM files for the team, perform Navisworks clash coordination, maintain and regularly check model health, and assist BIM Manager in the creation of BIM Execution Plans. The role will also support in the maintenance and advancement of company’s BIM templates and standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper BIM scope delivery by monitoring project progress and teams performance to deliver the project on time while maintaining the cost and quality parameters to meet the Appointing Party's objectives and requirements.

  • Ensuring projects are being run as per the Office BIM Standards, project’s BIM Execution Plan and Client’s EIR,

  • Manage and coordinate the overall deployment of a BIM Based Delivery within the multidisciplinary Design Projects in alignment with the organization's Way of Working and best practices.

  • Configuration, Maintenance and Administation of the project CDE (Common Data Environment) to enable the effective management, tracking, and monitoring of deliverables.

  • Identify and detect any potential opportunity/risk for the Project or the Team.

  • Integrate leading edge BIM application including Scheduling, Cost, Asset Management, and O&M programs into the BIM models.

  • Collaborating with internal and external teams related to project delivery,

  • Compiling and managing the combined discipline model for all project assets,

  • Creating and managing BIM model information (both graphical and non-graphical) within own team and verifying correctness of external teams’ BIM model information,

  • Carry out regular spatial coordination checks of their discipline’s design (involving models of other disciplines as well),

  • Communicating coordination issues to the project team,

  • Verifying that their discipline’s design is coordinated and integrated as a single discipline and with other disciplines based on the coordination hierarchy,

  • Support the production of project documentation from BIM models,

  • Manage and maintain project BIM content (titleblocks, project families, legends etc),

  • Publishing, packaging and exchanging discipline design models through BIM360 on a regular basis,

  • Providing over-the-shoulder daily training and development of BIM Modellers and less experienced staff,

  • Liaise with BIM Manager to ensure any changes in workflows and standards are effectively communicated to project teams,

  • Support the BIM Manager in the production and maintenance of project’s BIM Execution Plan and Office BIM Standards

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, or Engineering,

  • At least 5 years of experience in similar position, ideally implementing BIM on major design projects,

  • Excellent working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Navisworks,

  • Has a good understanding of BIM principles and its direction within the AEC industry,

  • Ability to understand Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and implement into the models,

  • Advanced capabilities with software applications such as: BIM 360, Dynamo, PowerBI and similar,

  • Experienced in setting up and working within the Common Data Environment (especially BIM360),

  • Must have experience working on various multi-story buildings as part of the Consultant or Contractor,

  • Possess excellent English communication skills with an ability to form effective relationship with project delivery team, Client, and Contractor (Arabic speaking will be a plus),

  • Excellent writing skills in preparing letters, technical instructions, analytical reports, and presentations,

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel,

  • Strong organizational skills, and attention to detail,

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills,

  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals,

  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance,

  • Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
