BIM MANAGER

 

Position Summary:

Help SIEC analyse and assess current skill levels and identify processes and workflows required to work towards BIM Compliance review in terms of analysation of current state of BIM readiness, how would SIEC company fits into the BIM Project and Information Delivery Cycles and Outline a structured set of Milestones, Goals and Objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Software

  • Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customization of the software

  • Manage the implementation of supporting software for BIM

  • Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies

  • Stay informed on best practices for use of Revit Architecture and BIM

  • Stay informed on other BIM related software and how they work with Revit

  • Support of related BIM software

  • Responsible for BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement

  • Creation and maintenance of the software Template files, Revit families to assure standards

  • Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions

  • Automate routines in BIM to support standards and productivity

  • Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all models produced

  • Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards

  • Train and oversee the day-to-day activities of the Revit Specialist to ensure BIM standards are maintained in the creation of the Architectural Revit model

  • Develop, maintain and enforce BIM Execution Plans for all projects

Management

  • Create written technology evaluations for future technology adoption that aligns with the corporate goals

  • Report on the company’s current and projected state in regards to BIM implementation

  • Create Upgrade and Deployment strategies for the BIM implementation effort

Project Interface

  • Support project standards coordination with stakeholders

  • Assist project teams in BIM project setup

  • Create Revit families in response to project need

  • Help resolve BIM design issues

  • Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team

  • Coordinate needed hardware upgrades with IT Communicate with sub-consultants to receive, coordinate and update all electronic models

  • Will be responsible for the effective implementation and compliance of BIM standards, processes and protocols both at organization and project level.

  • Manage a pool of technical resources within one or more specialty (Structural, Architecture, MEP) for the duration of the project and ensures projects’ BIM standards comply with the project BIM deliverables.

  • Review, plan, control the BIM related scope, quality, resources, milestones and deliverables across the project phases.

  • Create & manage the project’s BIM execution plan and ensure the project team is following the project’s standards and procedures.

  • Perform scope of work analyses, technical assessment, resource estimation, design strategies and identify technology required for new projects.

  • Issue and respond to all formal correspondences related to BIM activities.

  • Review the implementation of BIM Standards, procedures and best practices to meet the project’s deadlines and deliverables.

  • Monitor the BIM modelling process to meet time, resources and profitability objectives and perform corrective actions to meet those objectives.

  • Review and maintain specific BIM software template files to assure standards compliance.

  • Review and enforce BIM documentation and workflow process standards.

  • Review and automate routines in BIM to support standards, quality and productivity.

  • Review and ensure Project Information Models (PIM’s) are delivered.

  • Develop the process, perform, measure and ensure the highest quality for all BIM model package submissions in accordance with Project standards and requirements.

  • Manage, monitor and report on the development of clash interference and coordinated models with the project stakeholders for resolution and closure.

  • Coaching each discipline on leveraging clash-detection tools on their own discipline to proactively build and design in a smart fashion.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Project delivery team design-changes and model challenges. 

  • Prepare validation reports for milestone BIM package submissions

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, or Engineering. A Master’s degree will be a plus.

  • At least 7 years’ experience in BIM Implementation on major projects or program.

  • Must have experience with BIM Industry Standards e.g. BS1192 and ISO 19650-1 and 19650-2.

  • Advanced capabilities with BIM authoring and proprietary software applications such as: Revit, Dynamo, Navisworks, BIM 360 or similar applications.

  • Possess excellent English communication skills with an ability to form effective relationship with project delivery team, Client, and Contractor. Arabic speaking will be a plus.

  • Excellent writing skills in preparing letters, technical instructions, analytical reports, and presentations.

  • Preferably with experience in the United Arab Emirates and GCC countries.

  • Follows through on tasks to completion and asks questions when necessary

  • Strong organizational skills, and attention to detail

  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals

  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance

  • Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
