ASSOCIATE / SR. ASSOCIATE -

HEAD OF MEP

 

Position Summary:

To Manage the in-house MEP Section of the Technical Team in the production of drawings for the design, to an internal brief from the Management Team, to be negotiated with and submitted to the appropriate Authorities for speedy and satisfactory approvals in order to unlock and maximise development potential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of people within the Group (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing team).

  • Lead single and multi-discipline projects on behalf of the group (operating as Job or Project Leader as appropriate).

  • Prepare and take responsibility for project MEP engineering solutions for detail design.

  • Prepare Technical Specifications and check work/specifications of subordinates.

  • Prepare technical designs and calculations.

  • Develop own Client relationships and secure repeat work where possible.

  • Actively seek new work from existing clients.

  • Prepare Technical proposals and MEP design reports.

  • Reviews job performance and adjust resources accordingly.

  • Undertake high-level project technical/quality reviews and attend design workshops for projects relevant to experience across the practice.

  • Contribute to company wide initiatives with respect to technical development / market sectors and processes.

  • Commitment to company and self learning including development of own preferred area of expertise

  • Throughout the design stages, work alongside team to form a coordinated consultant representative team.

  • Prepare and deliver staff evaluations, staff performance development and workload allocation.

  • Contributing to other technical and operational duties as required by the team.

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • BA degree or advanced degree in Mechanical discipline desired.

  • 12+ years’ experience in relevant industry as a principal-level designer, senior design manager or other similar title.

  •  Minimum 5 years experience in  Middle East.

  • Saudi experience a plus.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of basis of design.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of codes.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once.

  • Demonstrated experience working independently.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • This role represents an important development from one exclusively responsible for technical MEP engineering and design work into one that starts to take on the wider issues of business management. 

  • Self starter and a highly organized manager.
