PUBLIC HEALTH & FIREFIGHTING ENGINEER

Summary:

We are currently looking for a knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated Plumbing and Firefighting Design Engineer to join our team in Cairo, Egypt.

What will my responsibilities look like in this role?

Works as part of an engineering design team, leading work on defined segments of a project with limited guidance and supervision of a Senior Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and coordinate all the mechanical design of the project through all stages from the concept stage to detailed design, approvals, and tender/construction documentation.

  • Lead pro-active coordination with internal and external design disciplines to achieve a high-quality, consistent set of design documents or presentations.

  • Identify the systems requirements as per the international standards and local authority’s codes and be highly experienced and up-to-date with current standards, authority requirements, systems, materials, and construction methods.

  • Preparing mark-ups, checking drawings, and instructing BIM technicians.

  • Assuring the correctness and accuracy of own work and the work allocated and done under his / her supervision to BIM modelers.

  • Personally verify the corrections and absolute accuracy of own and others work prior to review by the senior Engineer.

  • Understanding and implementing document control procedures for calculations and drawings.

  • Follow-up design approval from related authorities.

  • Be hands-on and expert working knowledge in BIM (REVIT), CAD, Navisworks, HAP, …etc.

  • Proactively check and coordinate project documents (including but not limited to multi-disciplinary drawings, design reports, design calculations, technical specifications, etc.) and ensure the highest quality standards are met.

  • Ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of design intent.

  • Reporting to Senior Engineer

We'd Love to Hear from You If You Have:

  • A BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University.

  • 5-8 years of broad, international experience in multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Member of a professional institution. Preferably a Chartered Engineer.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in specification writing in CSI Master Format.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in the design of drainage, water supply, fire protection, and gas (LPG) systems design.

  • Knowledge of the latest International Codes & Standards (CIBSE, ASHRAE, NFPA codes, IBC, British Standards)
