ROADS CAD/BIM TECHNICIAN-

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Preparation of all design drawings of road geometry, signing and marking, Longitudinal Sections, Typical Cross sections, Grading, and ancillary works of major urban and inter-urban road projects and service roads.

• Understanding of the Coordinates system / Datum and knowledge in Topographic survey and drawings preparation.

• Uses AutoCAD and MicroStation system to enter the required data, such as precise measurements and commands, in order to generate design drawings, renderings, report graphics or other digital images.

• Develops, organizes and prepares a variety of considerably complex layouts, drawings and designs from written or verbal specifications, or from rough or detailed sketches and/or drawings made by technical professionals, converting paper documents into computerized files.

• Develops and maintains standards and symbols to meet specialized needs of a particular project or to facilitate or improve CAD utilization. Writes procedures and distributes these to other CAD users inside and outside own department.

• Work closely with BIM Lead and Design Leads to ensure the project’s compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion

• Works with BIM lead, Design Leads and Engineers to develop engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, details from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures, and to ensure timely implementation and completion

• Understand BIM modeling process and able to manage all BIM related activities from project start up to project completion

• Review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards, in accordance to company QA/QC process

• Strong knowledge in LOD requirements

• Collaborate and communicate with other disciplines on coordination issues and model development tasks

• Autodesk Navisworks, with experience of clash detection and producing clash report is desirable

• Able to produce scheduling and quantity extraction from the model

• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

• Completes additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

• Diploma or degree in civil engineering.

• Minimum 7-10 years of CAD drafting experience in Roads and Highway projects.

• Software experience required: AutoCAD, MicroStation, Auto Turn / Vehicle Tracking, Autodesk Civil 3D & Navisworks.

• Common Data Environment: ProjectWise & BIM360.

• Good technical writing, computer and communication skills.
