SENIOR ARCHITECT

 

Summary:

A Senior Architect designs and prepares building plans for the most complex, large-scale projects, coordinates implementation of projects, administers agreements with Consultants, Architects and Engineers.
 

A Senior Architect acts as the Lead Worker and interacts with other Staff Members and relevant departments within the Organization as well as outside Groups.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working independently or with Consultants, Architects & Engineers, designs and prepares and coordinates implementation of projects, oversees the work and administers consultant construction.

  • Presents project design to Directors/Department Heads for review and makes recommendations to meet their needs.

  • Participates in final inspection of projects and makes recommendation regarding acceptance of construction work.

  • May review building plans and site design for aesthetics, environmental acceptability, compliance with codes and standards and accessibility requirements.

  • Prepares, reviews and evaluates contract technical specification for architectural elements of projects.

  • Prepares technical reports, progress reports, special studies to support other internal / external Engineers / Consultants.

  • Acts as a Lead Worker over the activities of subordinate professional staff and prepares reports and correspondence.

  • Serves as Architect of Record for projects designed in-house.

 

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.

  • 5 - 10 years of Architecture experience.

  • Professional Registration preferred. Estidama and Green Building- Dubai knowledge required.

  • Experience in Autodesk Revit, Lumion, Auto CAD, and other drawing based design program.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of architectural design principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of architectural design principles such as building definition materials and methods, urban

  • design, elements of 'good' design, form, function, materials and methods, circulation, context, and design standards and codes.

  • Ability to independently evaluate, select and modify standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

  • Demonstrate ability to organize and coordinate projects.

  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce environment.
