SR. QUANTITY SURVEYOR - (Road & Infrastructure)

 

Position Summary:

SIEC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience in roads and infrastructure projects, particularly within the scope of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of quantity surveying and cost control on large-scale transportation infrastructure projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills and a strong understanding of the complexities involved in RTA-related projects.

 

Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Control:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for roads and infrastructure projects, including labor, materials, and overheads.

  • Conduct cost analyses and forecasts to ensure projects remain within budget and financial constraints.

  • Develop and maintain cost control systems to track project expenditures and financial performance.

Project Management Support:

  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to provide cost-related advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Review and assess project progress and ensure that work is completed to the required standards and within budget.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and measurements to verify work progress and quantities.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts.

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, contracts, and project documentation.

  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess potential financial risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor and report on potential cost impacts due to design changes or unforeseen circumstances.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors and other team members, providing guidance and support as needed.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the quantity surveying team.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that arise.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional qualifications such as MRICS or similar preferred).

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying with a focus on roads and infrastructure projects, including significant experience with RTA projects.

  • Proven experience in cost estimation, contract administration, and financial management of large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
