The Evolution of SIEC to STUDIOI

Celebrating a decade of design excellence in the Middle East

As the firm marks 10 years of impactful design and development in the Middle East, it reflects on the journey from Studio International Engineering Consultants (SIEC) to its exciting new identity, STUDIOI. This rebranding signifies not only a fresh visual identity but also a new chapter of innovation, efficiency, and growth.

The Birth of SIEC

SIEC was established in 2014 when a group of experienced professionals, originally working to set up a design division for a major construction firm, found themselves at a crossroads. When those plans fell through, the team seized the moment and founded SIEC with a shared vision of delivering highquality design and development services.

The early days were challenging. Despite the founders’ extensive experience and industry contacts, SIEC was new and had to carve out its place in the market. However, thanks to their reputation, the firm quickly secured significant projects, including Nshama’s Zahra Breeze and Hayat Boulevard, a large residential complex of 1,300 apartments. This project became a stepping stone for SIEC, allowing the studio to build a portfolio and earn respect for its innovative and thoughtful designs.

A Decade Of Significant Projects

Over the years, SIEC expanded not only in size but also in the range of disciplines offered. Starting with Architectural Design, the firm gradually added Site Supervision, Structural Engineering Services, MEP Engineering, Interior Design, Landscape Design, and Infrastructure Design to its offerings. The company’s ability to handle more complex projects grew in parallel with its reputation.

One such transformative project was the Amaala Staff Village Masterplan, which required SIEC to evolve into a multidisciplinary design consultancy with expertise in Project Management, Design Management, and BIM. This maturity set the stage for larger, more complex endeavours, such as the Ghaf Woods, SHA Island Emirates, and One B Tower developments.

In these projects, SIEC serves as the Lead Design Consultancy (LDC), taking responsibility for engineering from the concept design phase and advancing the design from the 50% schematic stage— initially developed by the Concept Design Architects. These projects highlight the firm’s evolution and the dedication of its talented team.

The Transition To STUDIOI

With a decade of accomplishments behind it, SIEC is transitioning to STUDIOI, a new brand that symbolises its commitment to future growth, creativity, and operational efficiency. Rebranding is more than just a facelift—it represents a renewal of the company’s core values. STUDIOI is committed to refining processes, improving the quality of designs, and delivering even greater value to clients.

One of the key focuses during this transition is enhancing collaboration between its international offices. Whether a project is being executed in Dubai, Sarajevo, or Cairo, the aim is to operate seamlessly as one STUDIOI, ensuring that clients experience the same level of service and expertise, no matter where the work is done.

As part of this new chapter, the firm is also planning to move into a custom-designed headquarters that will foster creativity, collaboration, and excellence. This space reflects its vision for the future, where teams can thrive and produce exceptional work.

Looking Ahead

As the company moves forward under the banner of STUDIOI, its mission remains clear: to continue delivering innovative designs and high-quality service that set new standards in the industry. The rebranding reflects the ambition to grow, innovate, and create inspiring spaces that improve lives and uplift communities across the region.
