At the heart Shams Studios stands the pioneering production complex that positions Sharjah as a major player in the Middle East’s film and content industries. The complex comprises five studios ranging from 1,500 to 3,400 sqm, each engineered to accommodate film, drama, commercial shoots, and next-generation digital productions. Complementing the studios are world-class post-production facilities – including editing suites, VFX labs, and sound design rooms—establishing one of the region’s most advanced environments for end-to-end production. Adjacent to the studios emerges an integrated government media business complex that unifies all entities under one roof. The development includes four specialized buildings designed to encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration and operational efficiency while providing an agile, future-proof environment for content creation and government communication. The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority will also move into a new headquarters equipped with cutting-edge broadcast technology.
Phase one introduces the administrative block, a dedicated news building, and the Sharjah Sports Channel facility—together reinforcing the Authority’s capacity to deliver dynamic, high-quality programming that reflects the emirate’s cultural identity. Adding a cultural dimension to the hub, STUDIOI has envisioned the Shams Creative Oasis, a centre for performance, education, and community engagement. Its signature feature—a 700-seat landmark theatre—emerges as the new icon of Sharjah Media City. Conceptually imagined as a monumental sun, the spherical structure reflects the meaning of “Shams” while acting as a beacon for creativity. Its pure, sculptural geometry gives the building a timeless presence, transforming it into both a functional performance venue and a symbolic artefact anchoring the media city’s identity.
