HEAD OF LANDSCAPE

 

Position Summary:

The Associate/Senior Associate leads the landscape design team with aesthetic design and practical technical solutions for the planning of external spaces including hardscapes, softscapes, streetscapes. Proficiency in providing complex technical solutions and full technical packages from Conceptual Design through Design Development, Final Design and Tender / Contract Documentation. Person responsible to create the department and lead the design and resourcing as a fully functioning design team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation, regeneration and development of external land areas such as gardens and recreational areas, as well as residential, industrial and commercial sites.

  • Lead the landscape design team with creating plans, designs and drawings using computer based programs, leading and managing resources internally and externally.

  • Responsible for design presentation proposals

  • Responsible for the management of site visit as applicable per project.

  • Collaborate with other design discipline team, mainly Architectural team, Structural team and MEP team and enhance ability to undertake high profile, design led projects.

  • Advise and take the lead on environmental conservation and sustainability.

  • Responsible for generating design reports and drawing in 3D platform.

  • Assist by providing input for production of contracts and estimated costs.

  • Conceive, coordinate and execute design from the client brief in coordination with client's need, vision, brand requirements, project budget, schedule and site issues.

  • Responsible for presenting design proposals to the client to secure project approval.

  • Take the lead in the project status report and update progress to the higher management.

  • Prepare and deliver staff evaluations, staff performance development and workload allocation.

  • Contributing to other technical and operational duties as required by the team.

  • Review and assess bids and tenders and take part in Business Development.

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture and/or equivalent.

  • 12+ years minimum experience in the field.

  • A minimum of at 5 years experience in Middle East.

  • Substantial experience in environmental conservation and sustainability.

  • Ability to effectively manage resources and to work within budget and to programme

  • The ability to clearly communicate technical and design concepts through reports and presentations

  • Good presentation skills

  • Expertise in the local Flora and Fauna
