SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

 

Summary:

A Senior Interior Designer will be involved with the technical design team and be responsible for managing the project and ensuring all items of the project deliverables are delivered on time. They will be responsible for monitoring the design and construction documentation and maintaining technical excellence on all projects including the required coordination with other disciplines. They will be expected to be able to manage the in-house documentation team and FF&E team and coordinate with other disciplines and implement the QA / QC processes before every submission to ensure high quality of work.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acting also as the Project Lead who will be the main point of contact on the project and also expected to be client-facing, as well as liaising with other discipline leads.

  • Responsible for the design development of projects from concept to completion.

  • Responsible for all local authority compliance and code compliance.

  • Responsible for all technical detailing of the project and interior specifications.

  • Responsible for meeting the brief from an operational, functional perspective as well as aesthetically and meeting the project budget.

  • Responsible for reviewing the project interior specification.

  • Review of all drawing packages to ensure full coordination and technical excellence is achieved prior to issue.

  • Assist the concept interior designer with sourcing suitable materials and construction systems in line with the interior design intent.

  • Responsible for issuing all drawings, specifications, documentation, etc., and ensuring correct procedures are in order and issue registers are up to date and accurate.

  • Assist the Interior Technical Manager and provide ideas relating to project implementation to enable work to become more efficient, better coordinated, etc.

  • Ensure sub-consultants requirements are adequately incorporated in drawing packages.

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.

  • 10 - 15 years of Interior Design experience. “at least 5 years in GCC, Preferred UAE / KSA knowledge.”

  • Professional Registration of Estidama and Green Building preferred

  • Experience in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, Auto CAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and other drawing-based design program, preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with adequate English to ensure correct spelling and grammar on all documentation.

  • Leadership skills as well as the ability to work well within a team of other professionals

  • Organizational, project management, and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks.

  • An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving ability.

  • Demonstrate ability to organize and coordinate projects.

  • Experience in Coordination with Architectural, MEP, and Specialist Lighting preferred.
