SENIOR ASSOCIATE ARCHITECT

 

Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director - Design, to develop/coordinate documents for functional programming, design, and construction, and to provide design management for a variety of renovations and newly develop project cost estimates, review construction bids, and contracts for construction projects.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design process for heritage projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop and refine design concepts.

  • Oversee the production of detailed design documentation and drawings.

  • Manage the design review process, addressing issues and ensuring timely resolution.

  • Provide technical support to project teams during the construction phase.

  • Coordinate with relevant authorities and heritage bodies to navigate the intricacies of working with listed buildings.

  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures throughout the design and construction phases.

  • Collaborate with the design and technical team to ensure seamless project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager within a multidisciplinary consultant setting.

  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in architecture with a minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience

  • Extensive experience working on complex projects.

  • In-depth understanding of the processes and challenges associated with construction and building code.

  • Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and subconsultants.

  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards and building codes.

  • Track record of successfully managing the design process from concept to completion.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet project demands.

  • Solid software skills -ACC, Revit, 3D design, Sketchup, InDesign, Microsoft Office highly regarded.
